AI- unused sketch, Deseret Magazine!
This was the original cover illustration: It’s a very loaded time for Harvard and other Universities- all Universities- under the Trump Administration. Editors scrapped this cover at press time and went with one of the inside spot drawings. I really wanted to do sketch B!
The sketch I really wanted to do. I may polish this up and submit it to the American Illustration competition as unpublished .
After much editorial brainstorming, given the political situation, the editors used this spot from the inside series of drawings I did. I polished it up a bit, added more detail, and here we go, final cover.
